Broadcast journalist and 'I-Witness' host Kara David remains a loyal Kapuso.
Kara David renewed her contract with GMA Network on Tuesday, July 8, solidifying her continued commitment to delivering impactful and meaningful stories as one of the network's most respected journalists.
Held at the GMA Network Center Building, top GMA executives, including President and CEO Gilberto R. Duavit, Executive Vice President and CFO Felipe S. Yalong, Senior Vice President for Public Affairs and Executive Vice President for GMA Pictures Nessa Valdellon, and Vice President for GMA Public Affairs Arlene Carnay, Assistant Vice President for GMA Public Affairs Johnson Tam and Joy Madrigal, and Assistant Vice President for Corporate Communications Jojo Aquio attended the ceremony.
In celebration of Kara's 30 years in the industry, GMA President and COO Gilberto Duavit Jr. gave a heartfelt message to the award-winning journalist.
"You are as remarkable and distinguished as you are unassuming. Ikaw ang ehemplo ng pinakanatural, hindi mo aakalain na ganiyan kasikat pero ganoon kasikat," he said.
Kara also took a moment to express her gratitude, especially to the network that placed their trust in her.
"It's only GMA who took a gamble on me and sobrang hindi ko po 'yun makakalimutan. Nag-exam ako sa lahat ng network at bumagsak ako, at nag-audition ako at bumagsak pa rin ako pero minsan may mga taong ibinibigay 'yung mundo na bibigyan ka talaga ng chance," she expressed.
Building a well-established name in broadcast journalism, she has produced countless top-rating and award-winning documentaries.
Her career blossomed when she started as a writer for GMA's public affairs programs, eventually becoming a reporter and later a news anchor for News to Go in 2011. She went on to host several notable TV programs, including Power House (2013), Pinas Sarap (2017), and Brigada (2019).
Recently, Kara has been recognized with the Star Icon of Investigative Journalism and Media Excellence Award at the Global Filipino Awards.
