Kara David reiterates the importance of family bonding amidst the rise of technology, the internet, and social media platforms.

GMA documentary show iWitness host Kara David stresed that advanced technology and internet should not replace the time and opportunity to bond with family.

“Motherhood in the age of internet, so sabi ng iba mas madali daw yung parenting dahil meron ng ipad, meron ng ang dami ng puwedeng mapanuod sa internet,” Kara said during her interview on the Updated with Nelson Canlas podcast.

While some parents using social media, tablets, or cell phones as “babysitters,” Kara feels that “nothing replaces human touch.”

“Nothing replaces yung spending time with your family and bonding with your kids. Actually, all the more nga na mas kailangan tayong mag bond tayo with our kids ngayon dahil ang dami daming mga kumakalat na kung ano anong impormasyon na maaaring makasama sa kanila sa internet,” she said.

She then noted, “All the more na kailangan ano, mas patibayin pa natin yung bonding ng ano ng family. Mas mahirap yung trabaho ng mga nanay ngayon actually kumpara dati.”

Last year, Kara expressed in an Instagram post how proud she is of her daughter, Julia Kristiana, who finished her studies in Family Life and Child Development at UP Diliman.

"Parang kailan lang… ngayon magtatapos ka na ng kolehiyo. So proud of you anak. Masipag, matalino, mapagkumbaba at mapagmalasakit sa kapwa. Ikaw ang pinakamagandang nangyari sa aking buhay,” kara captioned her post.

For Kara, despite technology changing over the years, “yung values hindi dapat nagbabago.”

“Whether it's parenting, whether it's journalism, di ba yung mga prinsipyo na pinaninindigan natin noon pa man hindi yan dapat nagbabago. Kahit na magbago yung teknolohiya,” she said.
