Kara David's 52nd birthday wish instantly caught the attention of netizens after she shared it online.
The Kapuso journalist posted a video on Facebook showing her blowing out the candles on her cake and making her birthday wish. To the amusement of many, she said, “Sana mamatay lahat ng kurakot sa Pilipinas.”
The clip quickly went viral, gathering over 20 million views and more than 170,000 shares as of writing. Viewers couldn't help but joke that Kara's words reflected their own sentiments.
Even Filipino visual artist and animator Kevin Eric Raymundo, famously known as Tarantadong Kalbo, created a comic strip inspired by Kara's wish. Kara reposted the artwork on Facebook, adding laughing emojis to the post.
