Karl Eldrew Yulo at the 2023 Batang Pinoy

Representing Manila City, Karl Eldrew Yulo dominantly sweeps seven gold medals at the 2023 Batang Pinoy.

Young talented gymnast Karl Yulo shined once again as he triumphantly won seven golden medals at the Men's Artistic Gymnastics of 2023 Batang Pinoy on December 20 at the GAP Gym in Intramuros, Manila.

Karl participated in the Boys' FIG Juniors 14-17 category where he won all the individual events like vault, floor exercise, high bar, still rings, parallel bar, pommel horse, and the individual all-around. Currently, the child gymnast is waiting for the team event results as he was part of the Manila squad for his eighth gold medal.

Karl is also planning to join the seniors event at the Philippine National Games starting this December 21.

The 15-year-old athlete is being groomed as the next big Pinoy gymnast after his elder brother Carlos Yulo, a two-time world champion in the field of gymnastics.

Recently, Karl also won six gold medals at the Palarong Pambansa 2023 in the Men's Secondary Artistic Gymnastics on August 4 at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum. He swept all top places in the individual events like floor exercise, horizontal bar, pommel horse, vault, individual all-around, and team event.

Besides this year's Palarong Pambansa, he also showed potential as he won gold awards in the 2017 and 2019 editions.

According to his grandfather who is credited in introducing gymnastics to his grandsons, he believes Karl will surely pass his brother one day with his talents and skills.

The Gymnastics Association of the Philippines (GAP) is also excited for their scholar as they also believe Karl's potential as the next big thing for the Philippine men's gymnastics.

In a previous interview with Philippine Sportswriters Association (PSA), GAP president Cynthia Carrion said "Eventually, Eldrew will also be going abroad for training when he's old enough. Eldrew is our next gold medalist, I hope."
