Kat Bautista on then suitor Christian Bautista: “We super got along as friends and I really appreciated that.”
In the recent episode of GTV's cooking talk show, Lutong Bahay, Asia's Romantic Balladeer Christian Bautista and his wife Kat Bautista shared a glimpse of their marriage with Mikee Quintos and Chef Ylyt.
Kat took pride in Christian's maturity as a partner and revealed that they rarely fight.
“Hindi kami nag-aaway. Ano siya, productive discussion. Sobra siyang mature na tao, ako hindi ako mature… [He's] the first person in my life that taught me how to have a mature discussion na productive,” shared Kat.
(We don't fight. [We always have] a productive discussion. Christian is such a mature person and I'm not. He's the first person in my life who taught me how to have a mature, productive discussion.)
In a separate statement, Kat noted that she got along well with Christian because of his genuine interest and feelings toward her.
“We super got along as friends and I really appreciated that. [...] The conversation kept flowing and flowing, and it was something that is hard for me to find; that somebody who is genuinely interested in hearing what you have to say [and] more than what you can give them,” said Kat, “So sobrang na-in love ako agad.”
In terms of career, Christian revealed that he prefers not to do any kissing scenes even though Kat understands the demands of his being an artist.
“You know I really understand and respect the profession of acting. It's an art, and I understand that some scenes really do call for it…” said Kat. “As a wife and, you know, we have a company together so I understand it from the entertainment aspect na talagang kailangan (you really need) [kissing scene].”
Meanwhile, Christian reminded all husbands of the importance of communication because it is one of his practices to maintain a good relationship with Kat.
“We all know this; communication, right? So, do your best to communicate properly,” he said.
Christian proposed to Kat on October 30, 2017. The couple tied the knot on November 17, 2018, in Bali, Indonesia.
