In Katrina Halili's Fast Talk with Boy Abunda episode on Monday, the Kapuso actress shared the advice she would give her daughter, Katie, when it comes to love.
According to Katrina, she feels inspired and happy now after Tito Boy asked her about the status of her heart.
“Inspired lang ako,” Katrina said. “Masaya. Masaya lang.”
It has been a year since Katrina's boyfriend, former Wao, Lanao Del Sur Vice Mayor Jeremy Guiab, passed away due to heart disease.
In the same interview, Tito Boy also asked Katrina what lesson she would give her daughter, Katie, regarding love.
“Love yourself muna. 'Yun 'yung una kong ituturo sa kaniya,” she said.
Katrina reportedly doesn't want her daughter to end up like her, seeking love from the wrong person and at the wrong time.
“Kasi nga po feeling ko, wala akong sinabi, baka magalit mama ko. Feeling ko lang, hindi ako love [ng nanay ko] pero love ako ng nanay ko by actions, hindi salita 'di ba po. Feeling ko, so hinanap ko 'yung love sa labas," she explained.
"So ayaw kong ganoon ang maramdaman ng anak ko. Kailangan sa akin niya maramdaman 'yung love, hindi niya hahanapin kung kani-kanino,” Katrina continued.
When the time comes that Katie is ready to be in a relationship, Katrina said that her daughter should never forget to respect herself.
"'Pag mahal mo sarili mo and nirerespeto mo 'yung sarili mo, OK naman 'yung pupuntahan mo eh,” Katrina shared.
Katie is Katrina's daughter with her former boyfriend, Kris Lawrence. The actress previously mentioned that they have a co-parenting setup.
When asked what Katrina would choose--career or love--she replied, both.
Katrina currently stars in the GMA Afternoon Prime series Mommy Dearest, alongside Camille Prats and Shayne Sava.
