Katrina Halili will soon be seen in a new drama titled Unica Hija after the hit GMA afternoon series, Prima Donnas.

In the upcoming series, the Kapuso actress will play the loving and protective mother of Kate Valdez.

"Thank you sa GMA syempre. Pinagkatiwalaan na naman nila 'ko ng mabait na role. Mukha ba talaga akong mabait? Diyos ko po. Thank you, thank you po for considering me to play nanay ni Bianca (Kate Valdez). Parang nagulat din ako na binigyan na naman nila 'ko ng mabait," Katrina told GMA News entertainment correspondent Lhar Santiago during Unica Hija's story conference.

Katrina used to appear as a kontrabida on-screen until she was offered to play a surrogate mother in Prima Donnas.

Her portrayal as Lilian earned positive feedback from the viewers and she thinks this paved the way for her to play another non-villain role via Unica Hija.

She said, "Sanay naman ako sa salbahe. Thankful ako na parang maganda siguro 'yung impact ng Prima Donnas kaya binigyan nila 'ko ulit ng another mabait na role."

The production for her new show is ongoing and she has nothing to expect but to be a family with her castmates while on the set.

"Looking forward na maging one big family kami ng cast kasi 'pag family kayo, syempre, masaya lahat. Gusto ko mag-work ako nang masaya e. Lahat kayo okay para walang issues, 'di mahirap magtrabaho, 'di ba? At syempre looking forward ako na tangkilikin nila ang Unica Hija."

Unica Hija also stars Kelvin Miranda, Mark Herras, Faith Da Silva, Athena Madrid, Boboy Garovillo, and Alfred Vargas in a very special role.

Also part of the series are Maricar De Mesa, Bernard Palanca, Maybelyn Dela Cruz, Biboy Ramirez, Jennie Gabriel, and Jemwell Ventenilla.

Unica Hija will air on GMA Afternoon Prime.
