Katya Santos also speaks up on netizens comparing SexBomb Girls and Viva Hot Babes.

As fans warmly welcome reunions of iconic '90s and 2000s groups, many netizens have also begun hoping for a comeback project from the girl group Viva Hot Babes.

However, former member Katya Santos was quick to address the growing buzz.

In a Facebook post, the actress clarified that no reunion is currently planned.

“NO REUNION HAPPENING,” she wrote. “Unfortunately, we all have our own different paths to prioritize right now. We love the idea, but it may not happen anytime soon.”

Katya further explained their side, emphasizing the group's place in Philippine pop culture.

“We'd like to gently set the record straight. Viva Hot Babes holds a place in Philippine pop culture that we're deeply grateful for—not because of hype or comparison, but because we were part of a time that celebrated confidence, individuality, and fearless self-expression. We weren't just a group—we were a moment, a feeling, and a reflection of an era that many still remember fondly.”

She also admitted that the members were actresses and models rather than dancers, noting that their strength was always their presence, personalities, and work across film, music, and media.

“To those drawing comparisons with our friends, the SexBomb Girls: Let's say this with respect and clarity—the SexBomb Girls are legendary in their own right,” she continued.

“Their recent concert success is a beautiful reminder of how much they are loved, and we sincerely congratulate them on that milestone. They are celebrated for what they do. We are appreciated for what we did. Different styles. Different strengths. Same era. That's not rivalry—that's coexistence, contribution, and shared history.”

Katya also responded to critics, expressing pride in the group's legacy and gratitude for continued support.

“We respect that everyone has opinions. Ours is simple—we're proud of the work we did and grateful that it still resonates with people today.

“To those who continue to support and understand us, thank you for remembering the joy, confidence, and energy we brought. Some stories don't need competition; they simply live on in memory. To everyone who has ever supported Viva Hot Babes, thank you for seeing us for who we were, who we are, and who we continue to be: grateful, proud, and forever thankful for the love. We are who we are. We've always been. And we move forward with gratitude, not the need to prove anything. Viva Hot Babes—nothing more, nothing less. 🤍”

Yet the following day, Katya shared a photo with fellow member Andrea del Rosario during a meal.

“Meetings, movement, and a mindful breakfast. Grateful for mornings like this ☕🤍,” she captioned.

She was also seen spending time with Maui Taylor, mentioning a meeting and workout together in another post.

Despite Katya's earlier clarification, netizens couldn't help but continue hoping for a Viva Hot Babes reunion.

Viva Hot Babes rose to fame in the early 2000s as a popular all-female group known for hit songs such as “Bulaklak,” “Kikay,” “Basketbol,” and many more.

The group was composed of Andrea, Katya, Maui, Gwen Garci, and Sheree Bautista, among others.
