KC Concepcion even met a distant cousin during her stay in Amanpulo, Palawan.
KC Concepcion didn't let the moment pass to vlog her successful birthday surprise for mom Sharon Cuneta last January 7.
On YouTube, the 35-year-old documented her whole trip to the island of Amanpulo, Palawan, right after her beach trip in El Nido together with eventologist Tim Yap.
With all her bags and her mom's favorite strawberry shortcake in tow, the young Concepcion toured the beautiful island resort.
Right after she has settled in her casita, KC was surprised to know that one of the staff members in Amanpulo happens to be her distant cousin from her mom's side.
“So, allow me to introduce myself, Ms. KC. I'm Sam Cuneta,” the staff said.
This prompted the actress to ask, “Are we related?”
Apparently, Sam's mother is the first cousin of Sharon Cuneta.
“My grandfather is the youngest brother of Mr. Pablo Cuneta. He is Dr. Demetrio Cuneta,” she explained.
KC exclaimed, “Oh my god! We're super related! What?!? That's so cool. A representation of the Cuneta family in Palawan.”
After freshening up, the actress and Tim got to prepare the Mega-surprise for the Megastar, which includes procuring two kinds of lengua and a hand-written note containing all her wishes for her mom.
“I'm writing to my mother because we used to write to each other all the time! We used to write to each other every few days, and she would tape it on my door, and I would tape my letter on her door.
“Then it stopped, so now I'm doing it again,” she said.
“I said, 'I love you, and I'm so happy to celebrate with you even for a few hours on the island. Happy birthday.'”
After much preparation, KC and Tim immediately went to Sharon's cabin to surprise her, and, of course, it elicited joyful emotions from the singer.
By the end of the video, the 35-year-old actress thanked everyone who helped make her plan a success and shares how happy Sharon is that their family is complete.
“We gave mom her time to dress up because now she's excited that the family is complete,” she concluded.

Last January 6th, KC posted her birthday greeting to Sharon Cuneta by posting a throwback black-and-white photo of themselves on Instagram.
She said in the caption, “Today is the day that outshines any other day of the year! Happy birthday and a fabulous 55th to la Reina (the queen). Te quiero muchisimo (I love you so much) @reallysharoncuneta.”
