The half-British, half-Pinay beauty is all smiles as she greets the press and signs her contract with the management.

In an exclusive interview with GMANetwork.com, Kelley opens up about her year of discovery, finding her voice, and her upcoming show on the network.

Fresh-faced, the 22-year-old actress starts off by saying how it has been since her move to GMA Network last year.

She states, “It's been really positive actually.

“I found myself feeling very relaxed but also busy. I'm not as stressed as I felt before.”

She recalls how it felt right to do the move at the age of 21 and how her first projects had been a great run for her first year in the network.

“I had a really good run in my previous network but I felt like it's my time to do something new.

“When I did switch, everything just felt right for me.”

She continues, “And of course, when I started, I had The One That Got Away (TOTGA) so I was sort of put in there halfway through the show.

“And then I did guest on Kapag Nahati Ang Puso with Addy Raj and that was really fun as well.

“So those were actually my first proper experience in teleserye.”

EXCLUSIVE: Kelley Day feels her transfer to GMA-7 is the right decision

Because of her drive to improve her craft and her career, Kelley knew she had a lot to work on.

As someone who speaks English fluently, she knew that one of those things was to improve her Tagalog to which she embraced wholeheartedly.

“My management and I decided that I need to undergo some training so that when there is a new show coming up I could maybe be there from the start and have a more prominent role.

“So I totally agree! I was like, 'I want to do some training'. Tagalog practice and acting workshops have really been my focus.

“And GMA provided such amazing workshops for us. They've been really, really effective. And so, I'm very thankful for that.”

And now that she has been with the network for a year, how is Kelley keeping up?

“I'm still making a name for myself.

“I don't think that ever stops. No matter how big of an artist you are, you're always trying to have things that people will know you as.

“Personally, I came a long way. From starting at GirlTrends and solely dancing on-stage and then moving into acting, has been a really big change for me.

“I've changed the things I focused on everyday life and I really want to work on myself”

“With the upcoming new projects this year and feeling a little confident about myself, I think I might have something more to show to people,” Kelley concludes.
