Kiray Celis revealed the truth behind possibly the biggest plot twist of her 2018 when she decided to transfer to GMA Network and leave ABS-CBN.

In an interview with GMANetwork.com, Kiray admitted, “Sabi ko sa sarili ko, hindi na ako naggo-grow as an artist. I need something more.”

According to the new Kapuso talent, she realized her career had become stagnant in her former network, having no regular show nor guestings.

She said, “Nagge-guest lang ako kapag may pelikula akong pino-promote, and then I realized, 'Paano pala kapag wala akong pelikula, so wala akong guesting?' So doon na nag-start na parang I need to step back and sa pag-step back ko na 'yun, iba na 'yung tatahakin kong papuntang lugar, kung saan ako dapat pumunta. And I decided na pumunta rito sa GMA.

“And sobrang nagulat naman ako kasi sobrang grabe 'yung welcome nila and naramdaman ko agad 'yung love and 'yung respeto sa talento ko, 'yung respeto nila sa akin sa pagiging artista,” she added.

Kiray exuded a positive attitude now that she sees better opportunities for her as a Kapuso. She admitted that her transfer to GMA Network will pave the way for her to showcase her versatility.

She claimed, “Marami pa akong gustong gawin, kahit ano. Kahit ano gusto kong gawin pero hindi kasi ako nabibigyan ng chance para gawin 'yun isa-isa. So ito 'yung tamang place para gawin ko 'yun lahat, para maipakita ko pa sa mga tao na hindi lang si Kiray ganito. Ganito rin siya, ganyan din siya, ito pa siya, ayan din siya. Ganun. Kasi kilala lang nila ako as comedian, kilala lang nila ako as ganito. I want something more for them and for myself.”

“Gusto kong mag-grow as a person and as an artist,” she added.
