Kobe Paras is the newest basketball phenomenon in the country and one of the brightest prospect in local show business. In an interview last Saturday on Startalk TX, he shared about his passion and family. 

Kobe Paras is the newest basketball phenomenon and one of the brightest prospect in local show business. He is also the son of Kapuso comedian Benjie Paras and actress Jackie Forster.

Last July 27, 2013 on Startalk TX, Kobe was exclusively interviewed by Heart Evangelista.

The lovely Kapuso actress asked about him being the newest basketball phenomenon, “Well, at this point, I can’t say I’m a phenom[enon] because I haven’t proven that much yet. But, I try to practice harder and maybe hopefully, you can really call me a phenom[enon].”

Kobe’s video with Lebron James went viral. Heart asked him about his experiences with “King James”

“The day before the event, I really couldn’t sleep because I was really excited. And, at the event itself, I was really pumped-up . So, I was shocked, I really got to dunk with him. So, that was really a big experience.”

As Kobe is now entering a new phase in his life by joining show business, he is a bit overwhelmed by the reactions and attention he and his brother Andre are getting. Talent and good looks definitely run in the family.

“Well, siyempre, nakuha ko ang kaguwapuhan ko, iyong face ko sa daddy ko. At siyempre, pogi rin naman daddy ko,” Kobe proudly said.

Being considered as the newest hard court heartthrob, is there someone he sees special?

“Secret,” he quickly answered. “Well, at this point puro friends, friends lang. Nothing serious yet.”

How about the qualities that he finds attractive in a girl?

“Three F’s lang po. Fine, funny and faithful,” his witty remark.

When asked about his brother Andre Paras, Kobe left an emotional message.

“Well, sa totoo lang 'Dre, idol na kita ever since because you took care of me. So, thank you talaga. And, you’re my inspiration why I worked harder and became what I am today. So, thank you.”

Kobe is also thankful to the two people who are beside him all along. “I have a message for my Mom and Dad. Daddy, Mommy Lyxen [Diomampo, stepmom of Andre and Kobe], sorry for getting you guys in trouble in the past interview because of my honesty, but anyways, thank you and I love you so much. And, thank you for all your support.”

He concluded the interview by leaving a message to his dear fans.

“Thank you guys for all the love and support. And, I promise I’ll do well. And, I’ll make you guys more proud.”
