"Uy, malay mo, baka sakali manalo," Kokoy said on his Asian Academy Creative Awards attendance in Singapore.
Award-winning Kapuso actor Kokoy de Santos recalled his "once in a lifetime, solid" experience attending the Asian Academy Creative Awards in Singapore on December 4.
Kokoy is a National Winner for Best Actor for the 2023 movie Your Mother's Son.
"Siyempre, nandoon ako sa point na, 'Uy, malay mo, baka sakali manalo,' pero ang main ko talaga is 'yung experience," he admitted in an interview with GMANetwork.com at the pictorial of his newest GMA Prime series Mga Batang Riles.
"Nandoon siyempre, 'Baka lang [manalo]' pero 'yung mapili at manalo na bilang isang National Winner para sa Asian Academy Creative Awards, masaya, sobrang sayang experience.
"'Yung pumunta pa ako mismo sa Singapore para mag-present din ng award, siyempre international 'yun, solid 'yun. At naging isa rin [ako] sa mga panelist, sobrang sayang experience, once in a lifetime experience siya."
Aside from being a panelist at the National Winners Conference and presenting two awards, Kokoy also treasured the opportunity to meet other Asian actors.
"'Yung feeling na ma-meet mo sila, at maka-interact mo, saya, ang sayang experience. Nakaka-fanboy moment," he said.
Kokoy ended that attending the 2024 Asian Academy Creative Awards in Singapore is one of the two plot twists he received this year, the other one being part of Mga Batang Riles alongside Miguel Tanfelix, Bruce Roeland, Raheel Bhyria, and Antonio Vinzon.
"Isa 'yan sa mga pasabog sa akin ni Lord bago matapos 'yung taon, bukod sa Mga Batang Riles. Sobrang looking forward ako dito sa project na 'to kasi nakaka-excite 'yung script, siyempre para kay Miguel din bago rin 'to," he ended.
In Mga Batang Riles, Kokoy plays Kulot, one of the four underprivileged boys who were detained in a juvenile center as a punishment for a crime they did not commit.
In addition to Mga Batang Riles, Kokoy de Santos is also in the upcoming Metro Manila Film Festival movie And the Breadwinner Is... starring Vice Ganda.
