Former President Aquino passed away on August 1, 2009 after suffering from colon cancer.

It has been seven years since her passing but her legacy and memory live on, especially in the hearts of those who are dear to her the most.

Kris Aquino and Mikee Cojuangco, remember their mom and aunt, respectively, former President Corazon Aquino on her death anniversary today.

Kris shared a snippet from the mass they celebrated at her mother’s mausoleum in Manila Memorial Park. Flowers which were mostly yellow adorned the former president’s resting place.

“Remembering Corazon Cojuangco Aquino, a woman mightily used by the Lord in so many ways, on her 7th death anniversary,” she wrote.

Remembering Corazon Cojuangco Aquino, a woman mightily used by the Lord in so many ways, on her 7th death anniversary. I never really understood when she would tell me especially in very difficult situations, "Just pray." She would probably be relieved if she knew that I eventually got it, do it, and ask others to do the same! Thanks for that, Auntie Cory!
