The update is just the latest chapter in Kris Aquino's ongoing health battle against her autoimmune conditions.
Fans and Instagram followers of Kris Aquino are getting yet another update from the star, more than a month after she last posted about her health and her status in the United States as she pursues her treatment.
In the post, Kris shared a photo of a document from the United States Department of Homeland Security's U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. The document is to help secure a longer stay in the United States. Kris also shared in the caption to the post that her extension approval may take anywhere from two to three months to get approved.
Kris revealed that she is now going to start her immunotherapy treatment, which uses similar medicine as chemotherapy but at much lower doses. The treatment is expected to take about 10 months before she is done with it.
The post's caption also includes Kris' gratitude to call center agents in the Philippines, who she says have continuously shown her and her sons compassion despite not knowing them personally. She also shared her desire to somehow pay back these people in the future.
Kris' papers and her first round of immunotherapy are just the latest chapters in what has been a long-running struggle with her autoimmune conditions.
Back in June, Kris announced a social media break after revealing that she was suffering from Eosinophilic Granulomatosis with Polyangiitis (EGPA) or Churg-Strauss Syndrome, as well as autoimmune thyroiditis and chronic spontaneous urticaria. It was also the same time she shared that she would be taking Rituxan, a chemotherapy drug that is used for cancer but also for autoimmune conditions like hers.
Kris first announced that she would be seeking treatment in the United States for a year in April of this year in a comment on Regine Velasquez's Instagram account.
In May, Kris uploaded an Instagram post declaring that her condition is now “life-threatening.”
