Kris Bernal on being a parent: “I've traded in my old life for my new one.”
StarStruck alumna Kris Bernal reflected on how her baby Hailee Lucca changed her life as she celebrates her 35th birthday this week.
Kris, who gave birth to Hailee last August 2023, shared to her Instagram followers that her life has completely transformed since becoming a mother.
She posted, “I'm in a season of finding myself and new beginnings. Choosing me and my family first and picking my battles. I'm in my 'mom' era. That means mom's life is my first priority. That means I've traded in my old life for my new one. Late nights out for scrolling mom posts in bed. From pouring a glass of wine to pouring into my baby. Rocking tight jeans to joggers because that's all that fits me right now. Quiet nights for sleepless nights. Fine dining for finger foods.”
With the changes and challenges of being a parent, Kris stated that she is wholeheartedly embracing it saying, “And, I'm owning it. I'm lovin' it. Because these days won't last forever and I've prayed so hard to be where I am now.”
“Motherhood has given me more than it has ever taken away. I thought things would slowly go back to normal but everything changed. My priorities, my worries, my interests, my boundaries. Motherhood has given me a purpose to leave behind the things that were no longer meant for me and that I gratefully outgrew.”
She continued, “35, in my mom era, mothering so hard, and couldn't be happier."
Several celebrities reacted to her insightful post including Carla Abellana who left a heartwarming message in the comment section.
The Widows' War star said, “Happy Birthday, Kris! Be happy! There's so much to be grateful for. You can do it! You've got this!"

Back in September 2021 during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, Kris and Perry exchanged “I Dos” at the St. Alphonsus Mary de Liguori Parish in Makati City.
They got engaged in February 2020.
