Kristoffer Martin clarifies how he and AC Banzon chose not to go through their initial wedding plans.
Kristoffer Martin shared that it was ultimately better for him and his wife, AC Banzon, that they didn't push through with their original wedding plans, which, at the time, felt like they were doing it for other people. Despite the challenges of showbiz, he also said he's capable of staying loyal to his wife.
In an interview on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda this Tuesday, Kristoffer recalled that he and AC had been planning to get married for a while, but it didn't work out back then.
Before kami ikasal, engaged na kami before. Tapos plano-plano kami ng ganiyan, nag-aaway na kami kasi 'di kami makagawa ng… 'Paano tayo ikakasal? Sino mga invites natin?' Tapos may nangyari ng gitna sa amin, nawala kami,” he shared.
But when they got back together, they understood the deeper meaning of marriage.
“Tapos nu'ng bumalik na, swabe na, Tito Boy. Hindi kami nag-engrandeng kasal, 'Tara pakasal tayo bukas.' Like, ganu'n 'yung usapan namin dalawa. Mas naging sincere siya tapos 'yung invites namin, family, close friends lang, mas solemn 'yung nangyari. So, mas naramdaman naming ikinasal kami,” he said.
Kristoffer added that what mattered most was that the decision came from both of them--not from outside expectations.
“Kasi before, 'pag [nagpaplano] kami, kailangan may invites na ganito, ganito, ganito. Kumbaga 'yung iniisip namin before, kinakasal kami para sa tao. Pero nu'ng kinasal kami ng time namin, hindi namin pinilit, 'Ah, kinasal tayo kasi gusto natin,” he explained.
He also said that despite the temptations in the entertainment industry, he's confident he can remain loyal to AC.
“Ngayon, masasabi ko, Ah, kaya ko. Kasi ang [mindset] ko ngayon, takot ako kay Lord, lalo na ngayon. 'Yung pagiging loyal ko sa asawa ko is sa kaniya na and kay Lord. Nase-segregate ko na 'yung work sa relationship namin sa asawa ko,” he remarked.
Kristoffer and AC tied the knot in a civil ceremony in 2022. They share a daughter named Precious Christine.
Kristoffer currently appears in the Kapuso family drama Cruz vs. Cruz, airing weekdays at 3:20 p.m. on GMA Afternoon Prime.
