Kuya Kim Atienza is now a Kapuso!

The "Kuya ng Bayan" is now officially part of GMA Network following the announcement on 24 Oras, today, October 4.

In an interview with GMA Network, Kuya Kim said that he is excited and grateful for this new opportunity.

“[The] feeling of being a Kapuso and being called a Kapuso is.. Para akong nananginip eh because hindi ako sanay.

“But I'm excited because of the window of opportunity you guys opened for me. At this point in our life when there's COVID and the opportunities are really scarce, and then all of a sudden this door opens and you welcome me this way and I just feel so thankful. I'm so full of gratitude. Maraming-maraming salamat,” he said.

As he opens a new chapter in his career, Kuya Kim shared that “this will be a much better, much improved, and more passionate Kuya Kim that you should see."

"I'm excited again, excitement I haven't felt in a long time. And I am excited too for whatever is assigned to me," he added.

Now that he is a Kapuso, Kuya Kim is set to be one of the co-hosts of GTV's latest news magazine program titled Dapat Alam Mo! with Kapuso artist Patricia Tumulak and veteran broadcast journalist Emil Sumangil.

Kuya Kim will also be seen in other GMA-7 shows such as the award-winning daily newscast program 24 Oras and morning talk show Mars Pa More.

With his many years of experience in the media industry, the 54-year-old award-winning TV personality has proven his excellence in storytelling and has been recognized for his hardwork. He received the first “PMS Innovation” award by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) and “Best Educational Program Host” at the 5th Alta Media Icon Awards in 2019.
