Kylie Padilla shared that she unexpectedly crossed paths with her former husband Aljur Abrenica and his current partner, actress AJ Raval, along with their children, describing the encounter as something she had long anticipated.
During the third anniversary special of Fast Talk with Boy Abunda on Friday, Kylie appeared alongside Sanya Lopez, Glaiza De Castro, and Gabbi Garcia. Host Boy Abunda revisited AJ's public revelation about her children, three of whom she shares with Aljur, and asked Kylie whether their dynamic had changed following the disclosure.
“Actually, alam mo after that, Tito Boy, nagkita kami by accident, all of us,” Kylie said. “Hinihintay ko ngang lumabas 'yung picture ang daming nagpi-picture nu'n eh.”
According to Kylie, seeing each other again with their respective families felt inevitable. “Ang saya lang kasi I was waiting for that to happen, kasi it's bound to happen. And when it did, our kids played together and then we had dinner together. Ang saya lang,” she said.
She explained, however, that she chose to sit separately from Aljur and AJ during the gathering. “I let them… Nandito ako sa isang table, nandun sila,” sabi ni Kylie, na natawa sa kanyang sinabi. “Pero pinili ko naman kasi 'yun. I let them have their time.”
Kylie added that it was Aljur who suggested they all have dinner together with the children. “Si Aljur 'yung nagtanong 'Can we have dinner together? Kasi gusto ko makasama 'yung mga bata.' I'm like, 'I'm like, sure, sure,'” Kylie said. “May table sila, nandun sila. Nandito ako, binubuo ko 'yung Lego ni Alas,” Kylie added.
Gabbi Garcia jokingly commented, “Sana tinawagan mo kami,” prompting Kylie to clarify her decision to give the couple space. “Pero I respect their time kasi. And I don't wanna step on anything… you know. I'm just trying to be, 'Have your time.' I love to see them happy. And then, okay build (Lego).”
Kylie also said she believes it was right for AJ to finally speak publicly about her children. “Pero masaya, masaya. Maybe it was for the better talaga. Like I said in my statement. Mahirap 'yung nagsisikreto ka. Lalo na para sa mga bata. May tinatago, ayoko, ayoko,” patuloy niya.
Last November, AJ emotionally but bravely opened up about her five children, saying she wanted to put an end to speculation and allow her children to feel free. Following the revelation, Kylie posted a brief message on social media expressing support without mentioning names.
"Ito lang po comment ko para matapos na matagal ko na pong alam pero syempre inuna po namin ang kapakanan ng mga bata. Sobrang close sila at 'yun [ang] pinaka importante," Kylie said.
"Happy that now 'di na kailangan magtago. Proud of you. Peace all around. Sana matapos na drama," she added.
