We sat down with Kylie during the show's photo shoot, where she candidly shared about finally getting her first Telebabad project and the reactions of her dad Robin Padilla and boyfriend Aljur Abrenica.

Kylie Padilla has done a number of Afternoon Prime soaps on GMA. The most recent was the heavy-drama Unforgettable opposite Mark Herras and Benjamin Alves. This time, she will give life to Ada, the lead role in the upcoming telefantasya Adarna on GMA Telebabad

We sat down with Kylie during the show's photo shoot in Makati last October 30, where she candidly shared about finally getting her first Telebabad project and the reactions of her dad Robin Padilla and boyfriend Aljur Abrenica.

"Excited ako kasi, unang una, folktale siya ng mga Pinoy. 'Yun, at saka medyo may action, and may drama din. So whole package na siya. And at the same time, kinakabahan ako (laughs). Kasi siyempre ang ganda na ng concept, kailangan ko talaga mag-deliver. Sobrang nakakataba ng puso kasi naisip ako ng GMA, " she shares.

How different is this character from the previous roles she has portrayed?

"Hindi lang siya kawawa, may strength siya, may power siya. Mas malaki ang responsibility niya kasi marami siyang kailangang gampanan, hindi lang kasi siya tao. Kung gusto niyang magalit, magagalit siya," explains Kylie.

Kinuwento rin ni Kylie na may mga pinagdadaanan silang workshops, kabilang na ang paggamit ng harness. "Inaral ko 'yung character, at saka siguro 'yung physical aspect. Nag-workshop kami for the harness. Marunong na ako mag-harness, so marami kaming puwedeng gawin."

Tinanong din naman kung ano ang naging reaction nin Robin Padilla at Aljur Abrenica nang malaman ang tungkol sa Adarna. "Si Papa siyempre. 'Congratulations!' Super proud siya. Si AJ naman, sabi niya, 'Sayang.' Kasi tatlo 'yung leading man, sana hinintay na lang daw niya."

Aniya, umaasa daw silang dalawa na magkakaroon sila ng project together. "Talagang umaasa ako, kasi mas magiging madali ang trabaho. Hindi ko na iisipin na 'in love ako dito.' Pagdating pa lang sa set, 'Ay in love ako dito!' (laughs). Wala ng effort," patawa siyang sagot.
