Kyline Alcantara

Kyline is calling for help for the people affected by the eruption of the Mayon volcano.

After wrapping up the successful series Luv Is: Love At First Read, Sparkle star Kyline Alcantara took a much-needed break and grabbed the chance to do all of the things she wanted to do. One of the few first things on her agenda is to help out those who were affected by the eruption of the Mayon volcano.

Last June, the Mayon volcano's eruption wreaked havoc among the communities in the vicinity. Families had to leave their houses behind because of the physical hazards and health woes brought about by the eruption, which totally disrupted the daily lives of the people.

In case you didn't know, Bicol is close to Kyline's heart as it is her father's hometown. Exerting all efforts, Kyline reached out to the victims, interacted with them, and gave them a few necessities that could help them survive.

On her Instagram feed, she shared, “Today, I got to visit my father's hometown and checked with people who are greatly affected with Mayon. Glad that I was able to see them, talk to them and hug them. I was able to see their little smiles and glimmer of hope in their eyes despite what happened.”

“I encourage everyone to help our kababayan who are in dire need, especially those who are greatly affected with recent typhoons and Mayon. It doesn't have to be big or small -- small things goes a long way, right?”

From kids to old folks, Kyline tried to talk with every single one of them. She genuinely asked how they were and tried her best to give them a glimmer of hope.

Kyline's Instagram post was not at all to brag or prove anything to anyone. She was only doing her part in the hopes of inspiring others, especially the privileged ones, to step out of the comfort of their homes and help in whatever way they can.
