Lady Gaga praises Taylor Swift for battling her eating disorder: "That's really brave"

Trigger warning: This article contains a discussion of eating disorders.

American pop icon Lady Gaga just lauded fellow singing sensation Taylor Swift for courageously coming out of the dark and opening up about her eating disorder.

A clip from Taylor's 2020 Netflix documentary Miss Americana circulated online showing Taylor talking about her struggles with body dysmorphia and an eating disorder.

According to the "Anti-Hero" singer, she used to get defensive whenever someone showed concern about her well-being and overall health.

"I was like, 'What are you talking about? Of course, I eat. It's perfectly normal. I just exercise a lot,'" she said. "

She revealed a secret, "And I exercised a lot, but I wasn't eating."

She added, "I don't think you know you're doing that when you're doing it [eating disorder] gradually."

She discussed the toxic beauty standards in the entertainment industry and how harmful it is for younger people who might emulate the trends.

"If you're thin enough, then you don't have that ass that everybody wants, but if you have enough weight on you to have an ass, your stomach is not flat enough. It's all just impossible," Taylor said.

In a video uploaded by a Tiktok user @angclswift, Lady Gaga showed support for Taylor's vulnerability.

"That's really brave everything you said [black heart emoji] wow," Lady Gaga said, referring to Taylor's revelation.
