
Filipino K-pop fans had a little extra something they could be proud of over the weekend as Chanty, the Filipino-Argentinian member of K-pop group Lapillus, became the first half-Filipina K-pop idol to perform on the KCon L.A. stage.
Lapillus performed their two singles “Who's Next” and “HIT YA!” tot he receptive crowd at the 20,000 capacity Crypto.com Arena. The group also had a collaboration stage with the K-pop group Everglow, with one particular highlight of the performance being Chanty playing the electric guitar. The performance made her the first half-Filipino idol to do so on the KCon L.A. stage.

Chanty, whose full name is Chanty Videla, is a Sparkle artist who signed with the management company in November last year.
She started her entertainment career in the Philippines back in 2018 as an actress before pursuing her idol dreams in South Korea.
She entered as a trainee under MLD Entertainment, the same company that created Momoland and now currently manages groups like TFN and Hori7on.
During her contract signing with the Kapuso Network, Chanty also shared her wish to work with the Kapuso Primetime Queen, Marian Rivera.
“Bata pa lang po ako ang dami ko na po napanood na mga Kapuso shows and I'm a big fan of Miss Marian Rivera, I have been watching her before po, when I came here in the Philippines,” she shared. “Ngayon po na matatawag ko na rin po 'yung sarili ko na Kapuso and I'm hoping po na in the future I get to work with these amazing artists, such as Miss Marian and these big names po in the Kapuso world.”
