Miss International 2005 Lara Quigaman undergoes additional tests due to a previous emergency.

Beauty queen and actress Lara Quigaman opens up about a health scare she experienced last year.

On Facebook, Lara greeted her followers with a “Happy Heart Month” before sharing details about her emergency experience.

"Last November, Marco (Alcaraz) had to call 911 as I was having severe chest pain, unlike I've ever felt before," she wrote.

"I was rushed to the hospital in an ambulance, and since then I've had a series of tests to find out what's happening with my heart. Even though doctors ruled out that the pain wasn't cardiac-related, they want to be cautious and make sure it's working properly."

As of today, she said she's undergoing additional tests to check for possible blockages. However, she has not disclosed the exact cause of her chest pains.

"Sometimes I feel anxious, waiting for results and especially when I feel pain in my chest area or when I feel short of breath. But I am grateful for this season. God is teaching me to trust and be still before Him and to give Him my heart—literally," she added.

The Miss International 2005 titleholder ended her message by offering comfort and encouragement to others with similar health challenges.

"If you feel fear or uncertainty, may this be a reminder to be still and know that God is God and to give your heart to Jesus too. He loves you, He will always be faithful, and He is in control. The happiest heart is the one resting in God's hands," she said.

Last year, Lara revealed that she and her family moved to British Columbia, Canada. In the same year, she also earned her diploma in Early Childhood Education in Vancouver.

Currently, Lara enjoys life abroad with her husband, Marco, and their three sons.
