Lara Quigaman

Beauty queen-turned-mom Lara Quigaman is welcoming the second half of 2020 with a message of hope. Read her inspiring post in this article.

Saying 2020 is a pretty rough year for everyone is an understatement.

Ano'ng ikinagagalit ni Lara Quigaman kay Marco Alcaraz?

In January, the province of Batangas and its near-by areas including Metro Manila had to weather the effects of the Taal volcano explosion.

Then March came and the country went into lockdown to slow down the spread of the COVID-19. As of yesterday, July 1, the Department of Health (DOH) has recorded 38,511 cases, while 1,270 have perished.

The numbers do not include the number of overseas Filipino workers infected with coronavirus abroad.

With all the negative news we are dealing right now, 2005 Miss International titlist Lara Quigaman shared an inspiring message on Instagram, reminding everyone that we will be okay, despite the uncertainties.

She wrote, “Last January, like me, you probably had lots of plans, hopes and dreams for the year... and then came March and everything came tumbling down.

“All your plans cancelled. Suddenly that out of town or out of the country trip is postponed- indefinitely. You may have lost businesses, work, incomes- even loved ones. You yourself may have gotten ill.

“And then came April... May... I know it may not have always been easy, it was probably not easy at all.

“You cried yourself to sleep worrying about tomorrow. You asked yourself, 'What is going to happen to me now?' 'To my family?', 'When will everything be alright again?”

“You crawl through June... but you made it to today. Let me repeat that... You are here today. Alive. Breathing. - that's God's grace evident in your life.

Lara also stressed that nothing is impossible with God's grace.

“A few months ago, you didn't know how you'll make it. But look at where you are now. Look how far you've come. Scratch that. Look how far God has carried you.

“And He will continue to carry you through the rest of the year. I cannot promise better days ahead but I know this to be true- God is good and He is in control and those who take refuge in Him are blessed, they will not be condemned.”

July 1. The first day of the second half of 2020 is almost over. How are you? Last January, like me, you probably had lots of plans, hopes and dreams for the year... and then came March and everything came tumbling down. All your plans cancelled. Suddenly that out of town or out of the country trip is postponed- indefinitely. You may have lost businessess, work, incomes- even loved ones. You yourself may have gotten ill. And then came April... May... I know it may not have always been easy, it was probably not easy at all. You cried yourself to sleep worrying about tomorrow. You asked yourself, 'What is going to happen to me now?' 'To my family?', 'When will everything be alright again? You crawl through June... but you made it to today. Let me repeat that... You are here today. Alive. Breathing. - that's God's grace evident in your life. A few months ago, you didn't know how you'll make it. But look at where you are now. Look how far you've come. Scratch that. Look how far God has carried you. And He will continue to carry you through the rest of the year. I cannot promise better days ahead but I know this to be true- God is good and He is in control and those who take refuge in Him are blessed, they will not be comdemned. As you sleep tonight, it is my prayer that God will give you His peace as you trust in Him. That your joy will be restored, your bodies strengthened as you face another uncertain day- certain that God will never leave you or forsake you as you remember all that He has done for you. None of those who take refuge in Him will be condemned. Psalm 34:22 He is a shield for all those who take refuge in Him. 2 Samuel 22:31 Blessed are all who take refuge in Him. Psalm 2:12 The Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; He knows those who take refuge in him. Nahum 1:7 "Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you.” Deutronomy 31:6
