Broadway star Lea Salonga voiced out her gratitude towards the so-called modern-day heroes as she commemorated the National Nurses Day, Thursday, May 7.

In her Instagram post, the veteran singer gave praise to nurses for their heroic sacrifices in battling the 2019 coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

She wrote, “May 6 is National Nurses Day in the US. On this day all around the world, let us celebrate these brave, compassionate frontliners!

“It was a true privilege representing you all on Broadway, you are gods and goddesses in the eyes of the people you take care of!”
