You're My Favorite Song star Lee Victor took to Instagram to share a heartwarming reflection as he looked back at the path he walked before landing a coveted spot in GMA Afternoon Prime's hit teen romance-drama series.
To accompany his reflection, Lee treated fans to a series of candid, behind-the-scenes photographs captured directly from the set, giving a glimpse into the joy he feels in his current role.
In his post, he poured his heart out, labeling his role in the acclaimed Kapuso afternoon drama as an answered prayer.
He admitted to his followers that starring in such a project was a dream, but he intentionally chose to hide from everyone out of an overwhelming fear of failure and the heartbreak of a dream left unfulfilled.
“For some of you, You're My Favorite Song is just another series. For me, it's an answered prayer and the kind of dream you almost stop talking about because you're scared it might never happen,” Lee wrote.
Looking back, Lee recalled joining the Kapuso network through Sparkle GMA Artist Center in 2022, noting that he had always wanted to star in a youth-oriented show.
He even revealed a past setback, admitting that he auditioned for the GMA series MAKA but didn't make the cut.
Adding some humor into his journey, the young actor joked about how he would constantly pray to the Almighty for a breakthrough.
He playfully described himself as being “delulu with faith,” laughing off how his huge dreams kept him hopeful despite the rejections.
“When I joined Sparkle in 2022, I was always saying in interviews that I wanted to be part of a youth-oriented show. I even auditioned for MAKA. Didn't get in,” he shared.
“Then every time they introduced new characters, I'd quietly be like, “Lord… baka naman?” HAHAHA. Lowkey delulu, but with faith. Still, it never happened,” he added.
Despite the setbacks, the Sparkle teen expressed that he now understands why those doors were closed. Looking back, he is grateful things unfolded the way they did, as it ultimately paved the way for his inclusion in You're My Favorite Song.
For Lee, the project is extra special because he gets to share the screen with a cast that includes some of his real-life closest friends.
“Looking back now, I'm actually glad it didn't. Because somehow, everything led me here,” Lee expressed.
He continued, “Being part of You're My Favorite Song feels extra special…not just because it's a dream come true but because I get to do it with some of my closest friends. And I don't think I'll ever take that for granted.”
Now that he has finally achieved his dream, Lee offered a beautiful perspective on his long wait, saying: “Funny how the prayers that take the longest to answer end up making the most sense.”
He also extended his gratitude to everyone who continues to support the series and its cast.
Lee then invited viewers to keep tuning in to their afternoon drama, emphasizing that every episode aired on television is a product of their time, with every little detail poured with their hearts.
“To everyone who's been watching, posting, tweeting, making edits and cheering us on…thank you. It means more than you know,” Lee said.
“Please keep watching and supporting You're My Favorite Song. Every scene, every episode, every little detail is the result of so many people pouring their hearts into this project. It's truly a team effort,” he continued.
He concluded his emotional post with a final expression of praise and gratitude: “Forever grateful. Thank You, Lord.”
