It looks like we have to wait for another year until we see Reese Witherspoon reprise her role as the Gemini vegetarian lawyer Elle Woods on the big screen.
On Thursday, October 22, it was announced that Legally Blonde 3 had been pushed back to May 20, 2022, by movie studio MGM.
“Elle Woods is back! Legally Blonde 3 coming in May 2022. We rest our case,” it said.

American actress Reese Witherspoon played the iconic role in 2001 with Legally Blonde and its sequel in 2003.
Reports about the film's new release date came a day after its original cast's virtual reunion, which included Luke Wilson, Selma Blair, Jennifer Coolidge, Holland Taylor, and many more.
“It was just like senior year, except for funner!” Reese wrote on her personal Instagram account.
“Thank you to this wonderful group of people who came together to reminisce on #LegallyBlonde all these years later.”
She continued, “Every time someone mentions how #ElleWoods has inspired them, it brings me so much joy.”
In May, Reese confirmed that the chick-flick movie's third installment is officially in the works, signing actress and comedian Mindy Kaling as its screenwriter.
Legally Blonde 3 will be produced by Reese Witherspoon's company, Hello Sunshine.
