Following her father’s footsteps, Kylie Padilla, is an awesome addition to this famous showbiz clan. In his footsteps Many were surprised when action star Robin Padilla allowed his daughter to enter the chaotic world of show business. But more people were astounded when they met and seen what the 15-year old Kylie Padilla can do in front of the cameras. Recently we were treated to a death-defying feat by this young lady when she crossed the Marikina river in a harness 15-ft above the water level. Needless to say the older Padilla was very proud of his young protégé. “Maligaya nga ako kasi sa mga pinaglalaban ko kasama ko 'yung mga anak ko. Minsan mas passionate pa sila,” says Robin about her two girls who are both following his footsteps. A father’s advice A self-confessed supporter of the acting business, Robin encourages his daughters to love show business as he does. “Malaki ang respeto at pagmamahal ko sa industriya ng pelikula at telebisyon, hindi kailangan man ako magkakaroon ng pangamba para sa mga anak ko” declares Robin securely. But just like any other father, he warned his daughters about what they are getting their selves into. “Isa lang ang sinabi ko sa kanila, trabaho ito. Ang ibig sabihin noon, hindi ito laro. Kailangan ang tingin ninyo dito career. Napakapowerful ang isang artista, pwede kang makapagligaw, pwede kang makapagdiretso ng tao. Kailangan alam mo kung ano ang kapangyarihan mo.” The next action princess Making a big debut on television by doing extraordinary stunts and death defying action scenes, Kylie is said to be the next Action Princess of Philippine television. Robin even intimated that the network has plans of giving his daughter a project that does not include him. Thus the news that the network is grooming Kylie as the next action princess definitely pleased him and has this to say about it. “Sana mapantayan nila 'yung galing ng anak ko kasi well trained 'yung anak ko bata pa, kasi pag sinabi nilang ginu-groomm nila, wala na silang hahanapin doon sa batang ‘yun. Kumpleto na ‘yun. Kung baga para siyang isang regalo na ibingay ko sa GMA na sana gamitin nila ng tama.” Truly, Kylie is gift and a great addition in the action arena of the business. Just like her father, she is revolutionizing the idea of what women can do in the acting business and is taking the lead in making the standards one peg higher for our young artists today.
