The 71st edition of the most prestigious pageant in the world is finally happening. Miss Universe 2022 is being held in New Orleans, Louisiana, United States on January 14, 2023 (January 15 Manila Time).

Here are the names of the top 16 candidates who will continue to compete for the crown as Miss Universe 2022:

2. Haiti - Mideline Phelizor

3. Australia - Monique Riley

4. Dominican Republic - Andreina Martinez

5. Laos - Payengxa Lor

6. South Africa - Ndavi Nokeri

7. Portugal - Telma Madeira

8. Canada - Amelia Tu

9. Peru - Alessia Rovegno Cayo

10. Trinidad and Tobago - Tya Jane Ramey

11. India - Divita Rai

12. Venezuela - Amanda Dudamel Newmen

13. Spain - Alicia Faubel

14. Curacao - Gabriela Dos Santos

15. USA- R'bonney Gabriel

16. Colombia - Maria Fernanda Aristzabal

According to one of the hosts of this year's Miss Universe, Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray, it is the first time that Miss Laos made it to the top candidates of the said pageant.

Meanwhile, Philippines' bet Celeste Cortesi ends her Miss Universe 2022 journey after failing to enter the competition's Top 16.
