LJ Reyes has proven much already sa kanyang pagiging dramatic actress. Nagpamalas na din siya ng versatility bilang dancer at bilang host din. Kaya naman this 2010, gusto niyang makilala as a total entertainer by re-entering the world of comedy, and working on her singing. Text and Photos by Jason John S. Lim. LJ Reyes first tasted the comic life nang mapabilang siya sa revolving cast ng Camera Café, a less-than-five-minute situational comedy imported all the way from France. At ngayon, she's bringing her comedic chops sa longest-running gag show on TV, ang Bubble Gang! "So far, special guest." ‘Yan ang sagot sa amin ni LJ nang tanungin namin siya regarding her regular guesting sa gag show. "Ang alam ko, tina-try kami. And sana maging okay." Inamin ni LJ na the first time she joined the cast of Bubble Gang, medyo nahihiya pa siya. "Kasi, 'di ba, dati nagka-Camera Café ako? Nahiya ako kasi natalo namin sila dati sa isang award. Pero at least nasa kanila na rin ako." And LJ couldn't be happier! "Mababait 'yung mga kasama ko--sila Kuya Ogie [Alcasid], sila kuya Bitoy [Michael V.]--tapos comedy siya." LJ is also very thankful na mababait raw ang staff ng show, "at saka maraming food! Tapos ang sarap!" From breakfast to lunch, naabutan na nga rin daw ni LJ ang pamimigay ni Diego ng chocolates! Chocolates is one way to keep everyone awake and energized. "Kasi inaabot talaga ng madaling araw," LJ tells iGMA. This was the case especially before the break they took noong Christmas season. "Kasi kailangan mag-pondo." Pero ang tanong naming, will LJ continue joining Bubble Gang? Malapit na ba siyang maging regular? LJ admits to us na hindi niya alam, and that she would want nothing more. She excitedly tells us, "Ang sinabi pa lang sa akin, hanggang summer special." The Total Performer Isa pa sa mga pinagkakaabalahan ngayon ni LJ ang pagiging part ng SH3, ang bagong girl group na ni-launch ng SOP recently, kung saan kasama niya sina Chynna Ortaleza at Ryza Cenon as a singing-and-dancing girl group. While none of them are strangers sa performing stage, ito ang first time that they've gotten a segment of their own. And what's more, they were launched with an original song written and composed for them! "Proud kami, because 'yung song, kami 'yung nagrecord. Original siya." "November pa lang, pinagta-trabahuhan na namin 'yung kantang yun," LJ reveals. She added na ayaw lang nila magsalita tungkol dito, because aside from wanting to keep it a surprise, hindi rin nila alam when they would be first performing it. Now that they have performed it though, LJ couldn't be happier sa mga feedback na natanggap nila. "Maganda daw kasi 'yung production," LJ tells us. "Even Bianca [King], nag-comment about it. [She said,] mukha lang daw tuloy silang nagpapa-cute mag-perform." But LJ disagrees, praising the performance of her fellow SOP mainstays, the CoverGirls. Although cover songs na ang ginagawa ng SH3 ngayon, fans should be assured na tuloy pa rin ang todo preparations nina LJ para sa mga susunod pa nilang performances.
