Loisa Andalio and Lucas Andalio

Actress Loisa Andalio-Alonte took to social media to honor her nephew, Lucas Andalio, following his recognition as “Best Child Performer” in the 2025 Metro Manila Film Festival.

The 51st Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) held its Gabi ng Parangal last Sunday, December 27, honoring the outstanding performances from this year's eight official entries.

Among the night's winners was child star Lucas Andalio, who earned the “Best Child Performer” award for his role in the film Call Me Mother, starring Vice Ganda and Nadine Lustre.

Lucas is the nephew of Kapamilya actress Loisa Andalio-Alonte, who was also part of the cast of another MMFF film entry, Shake, Rattle, and Roll: Evil Origins.

Shortly after the awards ceremony, Loisa took to X to celebrate the milestone. In an emotional post, she shared throwback photos of herself with a much younger Lucas, contrasting them with his success today.

She drew a powerful parallel between Lucas's humble beginnings as a baby and his impressive evolution into a recognized young talent.

"Baby ka lang namin dati!” Loisa wrote the caption.

Expressing her joy for her nephew's MMFF 2025 success, Loisa continued her message with a greeting: “Congratulations Baby Lucas namin Best Child Actor!!!!! We love you!!!!”

Prior to this sentimental post, Loisa has been Lucas's biggest cheerleader throughout the festival. Earlier in the month, she shared that she actually helped prepare him for his role.

Loisa proudly revealed on X that she taught Lucas a specific technique of closing his eyes before a scene to avoid distractions which helped him deliver a powerful impromptu performance during a guesting on It's Showtime.

“Proud ang tita! Yung turo ko sa kanya na pikit siya kapag actors' cue para hindi ma-distract, huhuhu (cute)! Galing, galing,” she wrote.

This year has been a season of celebration for Loisa, who officially married Ronnie Alonte in November 2025. The intimate wedding was surrounded by their circle of family and friends.

Aside from her wedding, she plays the lead role of "Hermana Flor" in the first segment of the MMFF film entry Shake, Rattle, and Roll: Evil Origins, together with Carla Abellana, Ashley Ortega, Elijah Alejo, and Ysabel Ortega.
