Michael V. clarifies persistent rumors about him transferring to another network.
Veteran entertainment columnist Lolit Solis doesn't see any reason for multi-awarded comedian and content creator Michael V. to leave GMA Network.
The former Startalk host shared her thoughts on the on-going rumors about the 51-years-old comedy icon leaving his home network for the past two decades.
In an Instagram post, she said, “Michael V. ay isa pa rin solid Kapuso. Marami kasing naging speculation dahil sa pagkawala ng Pepito Manaloto.
"Kung noon na malakas pa ang kumpetensiya, at umalis sa GMA7 si Ogie Alcasid, nanatiling Kapuso si Michael V. ngayon pa ba na wala ng malakas na ibang network kaya nga naglilipatan na sa GMA7 ang mga star at balita pa na pati ilang executives. Hindi ito ang oras para magsabi na lilipat o aalis.”
She added, “At sa tagal ni Michael V sa GMA7 sigurado kami na napamahal na siya sa lahat duon at itinuturing ng pamilya. Saka sabi ko nga, ang mainsecure iyon walang talent,iyon pasaway, iyon talagang wala ng pag asa na umangat pa. Michael V na puno ng talent , pawawalan mo ba. Of course not di ba Angel at Marian , kaya stay siya Kapuso forever. Bongga !!”
In an exclusive interview with PEP.ph, the actor-director stressed that there's no truth about the rumors and he is still a contract star of GMA-7.
In a text message sent to Gorgy Rula, Michael V. said, “Yes, I still have a contract. It's a network protocol. Hindi naman ako makakagawa ng show nang walang kontrata.”
As of now, Michael V. is very much involved with the up-coming prequel Pepito Manaloto, which will be about the life of Pepito, Elsa, and Patrick in their younger years.
In a previous interview, Direk Michael said, “We won't actually call it a next season--it's a transitional season.
“Kasi, this tackles the life of Pepito and Elsa, when they were young.
“Bago pa sila naging sila, dito mae-explore 'yung buhay nila at kung ano 'yung pinagdaanan nila.
“At kung ano 'yung naging values, kung bakit sila ganito ngayon.”
