The Department of Health (DOH) has announced that the country now has 16 certified laboratories that are capable of conducting real-time RT-PCR for the Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19).

Out of the 16 certified health facilities, three are located in Quezon City while the cities of Mandaluyong and Manila each have two.
The DOH aims to enhance the COVID-19 testing capabilities of the Philippines and capacitate more laboratories to conduct tests.
As of April 13, a total of 43,500 COVID-19 tests have already been conducted according to DOH.
