
Actress Ynna Asistio pleaded to her Instagram followers to pray for her as she was recently diagnosed with a rare medical condition called “volvulus.”
On her Instagram stories, a photo of Ynna is seen lying in a hospital bed together with the caption, “Hello. Please pray for Ynna.
“Rushed her last night sa ER, mga 12 a.m. pero nakakuha kami room nga 4:30 a.m. na.
“Nagka-severe stomach ache siya. Na-CT scan na siya and na-rule out na 'yung appendicitis, but she will have open surgery.
“It's a rare condition daw. Nag-swi-swirl ang intestines niya.
“Please pray for her.”
Similarly, Ynna's mom Nadia Montenegro confirmed the said condition on her Facebook account dated Monday, November 18th.
Her caption says, “My 'faith' is stronger than my fear! God is our healer!
“You will be ok, baby. I love you so much.
“Please pray for Ynna. She was diagnosed with 'volvulus,' a rare condition involving twisting of the small intestines, no medicines, and only a major surgery can cure.
“I know God is watching over her. Please keep her in your prayers. Thank you.”
ROAD TO RECOVERY
Three days after she was confined, Ynna posted a selfie of her on Instagram stories and said she was already feeling better and that no surgery was needed after all.
“God is good!” she captioned.
“Last night the doctor said that I'm getting better and no surgery needed.
“When I got here the other day I was ready for surgery because my left abdomen got super swollen and was aching so bad. I thought my intestines were about to burst, that's how painful it was. But the doctor said that they still have to observe me.
“Eventually, through your powerful prayers, my intestines softened and the swelling lessened. Now, I'm still recovering but still under observation.”
The former Sana Ay Ikaw Na Nga actress thanked her fans for their continued prayers and hopes that she will recover soon.
According to Medical News Today, volvulus refers to the abnormal twisting of a part of the large or small intestine that can lead to bowel obstruction and can cause severe complications.
