The exact origin or discovery of the well-loved cheese is unknown. But since it is closely related to the domestication of milk-producing animals such as the sheep, some assume that it was discovered around 8,000 to 10,000 years ago when the domestication of animals began.

Some believe that humans have accidentally discovered the art of cheesemaking through the practice of storing milk harvested from domesticated animals.

Some also say that cheesemaking has been referred to in ancient Greek mythology and evidence of it had reportedly been found on Egyptian tomb murals dating back to over 4,000 years ago.

Regardless of when and where the true origin of cheese is, we're all grateful that we can enjoy it's salty and tangy taste in many different forms.
