Fashion watchers got a different kind of show on the SS22 Paris Fashion Week Balenciaga show as the fashion house debuted a 10-minute collaboration video with "the Simpsons" rather than the usual fashion show.
“The Simpsons” collaboration was apparently the idea of Balenciaga creative director Demna Gvasalia, who watched the show as a child in the Soviet Union.
In the video titled "The Simpsons|Balenciaga," Homer finds himself in a conundrum after forgetting to get his wife Marge a present for her birthday. After discovering how Marge wishes to experience wearing a Balenciaga down at least once, Homer sends a desperate email to the fashion house to send him “anything” Balenciaga.
When the fashion house responds, humorous situations ensure. Watch the video below:
The clip features a fashion show where the population of Springfield -- such as Moe, Chief Wiggum, and Patty and Selma Bouvier -- walk the runway, but the actual Paris fashion show only involved celebrities like Elliot Page, Isabelle Huppert, and Naomi Campbell walking the runway before the screening of the video.
Filipino celebrities have also attended previous Paris Fashion Weeks, with the most recent being Heart Evangelista. Check out her time at the Paris Fashion Week 2020 in the gallery below.
