Carla Abellana and Tom Rodriguez just came back from a short Euro trip for a late celebration of the former’s 31st birthday.
 
They flew back as the pilot episode of their soap I Heart Davao aired last night, June 26.
 
“Gusto sana namin [makanood] kaso nasa biyahe pa kami nun, pero we are very happy to see the reaction ng mga tao… Nakita namin 'yung comments nila [at] masaya kami na nagustuhan nila,” Tom told Aubrey Carampel of GMA News.
 
Tom said that he ‘enjoyed’ the quality time he spent with his leading lady.
 
“Enjoy [kami]. Mas mainit pa pala dun kaysa dito [sa Manila] ngayon. Mali 'yung dala kong damit,” he shared, laughing.

Despite that, it was an overall positive experience. They even saw Direk Jun Lana, someone close to both their hearts.
 
“It was a lot of fun, really enjoyed it. Ang weird na nasakto namin si Direk Jun Lana sa Amsterdam, who’s one of our favorite directors who directed our film So It’s You. Sabi namin it’s a sign na siguro [na] tinatawag na kami dito ulit. Nagpaparamdam na, nagpapa-miss ang Pilipinas,” he quipped.
