Actor Robin Padilla decried the event with a single post on his Instagram with a picture of the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cathedral in Jolo.

Meanwhile, GMA news personality and Unang Hirit host Arnold Clavio called for justice and prayers on his Instagram account.

“Sama-sama nating kondenahin ang ginawang pagpapasabog sa Cathedral of Our Lady of Mount Carmel sa Jolo Cathedral sa gitna ng banal na misa.

“Ipagdasal natin ang 27 inosenting biktima na namatay at mga nasugatan. Pati na rin ang kanilang naulilang mga mahal sa buhay.

“Ang ganitong aksyon ng karuwagan ay walang lugar sa ating lipunan. #justiceforjolo.”

Actress Angeli Pangilinan also condemned the “senseless and evil act” in a post on Instagram.

“So sad about the church bombing in Jolo yesterday where most of those who died were in uniform.

On January 27, the first bomb exploded inside the church at 8:45 am when a mass was set to begin while the second bomb went off happened in the parking area after the military responded.
