G. Töngi is currently back in the Philippines for a vacation.

The actress, who rose to fame in the '90s, migrated to the U.S. in 2014.

On Instagram, G showed photos of her in Manila attending an event supporting women's rights.

I made it to #StScho In Manila for #1BillionRising # RiseResistUnite #RiseInSolidarity On International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, I continue to be in solidarity with my Community of activists against violence against women! Babae Ako, Lumalaban sa Abuso (I Am A Woman, Fighting Abuse) This global campaign is meant to raise awareness and to demand a stop to violence against women. Joms Salvador, Secretary General of Gabriela said that this day also reminds us that the same violence still happens to women especially among the poor and marginalized. “Every day, every hour, women and girls get raped, beaten, harassed but are afraid and ashamed to speak about what happened to them because of victim-blaming. Women workers are deprived of equal labor rights in favor of additional profits for the capitalists. Peasant women get killed defending the land that they till but don't own. And the fact that we have a president whose mouth spills of misogynistic remarks perpetuates impunity.” Students, women human rights defenders, workers, students, urban poor, indigenous peoples, and individuals from different organizations and institutions gather today and on Saturday to denounce violence against women and to show solidarity throughout the world. ☝🏽
