Philippine-bet Katrina Llegado finished as 5th runner-up during the Reina Hispanoamericana 2019 competition in Bolivia yesterday, February 9.
Overall, she placed 7th in the competition and Miss Mexico Regina Peredo Gutierrez succeeded last year's winner Narima Battikha.
On her Instagram post, she continually thanked her supporters for giving her the strength to pursue her dreams and bring pride to the country on the international stage.
She wrote, "Maraming Salamat Filipinas!
"It is an honour representing our country. I couldn't be more proud shouting 'Filipinas' knowing millions of Filipino all fighting right behind me! Our journey to Reina Hispanoamericana might have come to its end, but I'll forever be grateful for this experience."
She also congratulated Miss Mexico, who also happens to be her roommate, in the said post.
"Congratulations to our new Reina Hispanoamericana, @reginaperedog. My roommate and literally my sister from Mexico, you did amazing and I am so happy and excited for your beautiful reign."
On Instagram, Philippines' very first Reina Hispanoamericana winner Winwyn Marquez recalled her experience at the pageant and showed her support for the Philippine bet.
"The pageant is one of the greatest experiences of my life and has taught me so much.
"Just being part of the pageant is really something to be proud of...
"To @Katllegado, you are such a fighter! I am so proud of you! To queen @narybattikha congratulations for a wonderful reign... I will never forget how you reached out to me and asked for my advice about pageants and performing..."
A job well done Kat and congratulations, Miss Mexico!
