"This once in a lifetime experience 26 years ago paved the way for me to be a beauty queen and gave me the opportunities I am enjoying today," wrote Ruffa Gutierrez in her throwback post.
Ruffa Gutierrez hosted Miss World Philippines 2018 which was held last Sunday, October 7.
Before the event began, Ruffa took to Instagram to post a throwback photo of herself when she represented the Philippines for an international modeling competition.
"Hi, I'm Sharmaine Ruffa Gutierrez, 17 years old from the Philippines! This polaroid was taken at the Plaza Hotel in New York when I was handpicked by Mrs. Stella Araneta to represent our country in John Casablancas' “ELITE LOOK OF THE YEAR” modeling competition."
After she competed here in 1992, Ruffa joined Miss World in 1993 where she ended up being the second runner up.
