Ruru Madrid mourns the death of basketball legend Kobe Bryant.
Following the news of basketball legend Kobe Bryant's tragic death, Ruru Madrid's father, Bong Madrid, consoled his son who is an avid fan of the late icon.
Bong posted a message of support for Ruru online.
On Facebook, he wrote, “Ru, alam ko gan mo ka-idolo si Kobe, kaya ka nag-basketball 'coz of him, I remember bata ka pa, binilan kita ng jersey ng lakers grabe saya mo, from 8 to 24, alam ko gaano kasakit sa 'yo, gone too soon, pinaglalaban mo pa na siya ang GOAT! Malampasan mo din yan Ru, ilaro natin yan, ingat labyu.”
Ruru, on the other hand, mourned the passing of his long-time idol and inspiration.

Kobe, his 13-year-old daughter Gianna, and seven others passed away in a helicopter crash in Los Angeles on January 26. The group of nine were on their way to Gianna's basketball tournament at Kobe's Mamba Academy, where Kobe was the team's head coach when the accident happened.
