We're not kidding. You can literally see her smile, blink, tilt her head or look the other way by simply uploading her old photo on the AI-powered service.

Yes, folks. A new breed of “deepfakes” has arrived and it's both wonderful and a bit creepy at the same time.

Deep Nostalgia by online genealogy company MyHeritage is the newest fake video trend to recently blow up on Twitter.

It works by bringing photos to life or making it appear that the subject on the photo is moving.

The technology has been compared to the iOS Live Photos feature, which adds a few seconds of video to help users find the best shot when taking photos using a smartphone.

Deep Nostalgia is capable of animating still photos through pre-recorded driver videos in its program, which has templates of facial movements.

It then chooses and applies the movement that best suits the photo you uploaded.

While the original purpose of the technology was to give you a chance to see your deceased love one “in action” once again.

Some people actually find it weird, even calling it “the creepiest fake video possible.”

In 2017, the world was stunned by the emergence of deepfakes or fake edited videos that look so real, it's guaranteed to deceive anyone.

It usually involves putting the faces of known celebrities and personalities in the heads or bodies of other persons, making it look like they're the ones talking or doing what the person in the video is doing.

Last year, another breed of fake videos became a trend, thanks to face swap app Doubllicat or REFACE.

In this new kind of fake videos, people can put their faces in videos of celebrities, giving them a chance to become their idols.

And this 2021, we can now see our deceased loved ones moving and smiling again or see random photos come to life like Hogwarts portraits, thanks to the Deep Nostalgia AI service.
