On Instagram, Louie congratulated Ahtisa and praised her remarkable performance throughout the competition.
"I am very proud of you, [Ahtisa Manalo]! You did great and you deserve the high scores I gave you in all the categories of the competition. God bless you more," he wrote.
Along with the message was a picture of them together backstage.
Netizens filled the comments with mixed reactions. Many commended Louie's support and integrity as a judge, while others questioned his fairness due to his friendship with the beauty queen.
Reports stated Louie already clarified the claims in an interview with Cabinet Files.
“We were told by MUO to have no biases, and that's exactly what I'm going to do," he said.
“Miss Universe Philippines Ahtisa Manalo is my friend, but I am sure she will understand my position. I have not spoken to her since her birthday dinner many months back, but of course, I wish her all the best.”
Ahtisa Manalo placed third runner-up, following fourth runner-up Olivia Yace of Côte d'Ivoire.
Venezuela's Stephany Abasali placed second runner-up, Thailand's Praveenar Singh finished first runner-up, and Mexico's Fatima Bosch was crowned Miss Universe 2025.
