Jolina Magdangal has been an icon since she was a teenager. Now that she is a grown woman, she continues to give us a new aspect of her colorful personality. Now as a host of a drama anthology where she and Marvin Agustin give out advice and opinions to the letter senders of the show, Jolina continues to make people wonder how she is able to reinvent herself amidst her years and experience in the entertainment industry. Her latest flick, I.T.A.L.Y. (I Trust And Love You) was shot in three continents – Europe, Africa and Asia, a record of some sorts in the movie industry. starsLikewise, in her newest television show at the Kapuso network, Dear Friend, she transforms into a host/guru where Jolina becomes a modern day Ate Helen. She expresses her opinions on various topics that the show features with conviction and gusto, again presenting us with a new side of her interesting persona. Reunion with Marvin Jolina and Marvin Agustin were rumored to have been sweethearts when they were younger. A number of years have passed and they have remained good friends. That is why they were unanimously chosen by the GMA Network executives to host Dear Friend. Jolina had no qualms in accepting the project because she believed in the format of the show and she thinks that it is a perfect project for their reunion. "Noong sinabi nga sa akin itong Dear Friend at si Marvin ang makakasama ko, okay sa akin ang project," confirms Jolina. She adds that she has no doubt that their reunion will be an enjoyable one since she always had a good rapport with the actor. "Enjoy, masaya kami dun [sa show]. Ako masaya ako dun sa theme, kasi alam mong nagtatalo kayo, pero hindi kayo nagaaway. Sinasabi nyo lang 'yung mga point of views nyo, na nakakatawa kasi si Marvin nakakatawa naman kasama 'yun e," explains the petite actress. A new concept starsThe format of the show maybe a drama anthology but it is presented in a novel way. Televiewers feel that aside from being entertained by the story of the letter sender, they get to learn various point of views which are engagingly presented by the hosts. "Fresh at saka light ['yung show]. Kung magkaroon man kami ng topic na mabigat hindi nila mararamdaman sa amin ni Marvin na mabigat 'yung topic, na tipong kailangan nyang mamroblema." She also raises the point that she and Marvin are at the right age to host this kind of show and she believes that there will a lot of viewers who will be able to relate to what they are going to say. "Yung concept kasi niya, hindi mabigat at tama lang sa edad naming dalawa ni Marvin. In the past naman, yung mga nagiging shows namin ni Marvin, hindi rin mabibigat. It's always yung maraming makaka-relate na mga kabataan sa amin. Kaya itong Dear Friend, marami ulit mga young people, and even mga mas older pa, ang makaka-relate sa aming dalawa."
