
Today, August 10, marks the 86th birth anniversary of Philippine showbiz icon Fernando Poe Jr.
His daughters, actress Lovi Poe and politician Grace Poe, took to social media to remember their late father's birthday.
"Today, we remember the 86th birth anniversary of Fernando Poe Jr. His remarkable legacy and contributions to Philippine cinema will forever leave a lasting mark in our hearts," former senator Grace wrote on Instagram.
Lovi reposted her sister's post, adding "Happy birthday Papa [heart emoji]."
Popularly know by his initials, FPJ was born Ronald Allan Kelley Poe on August 20, 1939.
He enjoyed a prolific career which spanned nearly five decades and starred in about 300 films earning him the moniker "Da King."
He passed away on December 14, 2004 at the age of 65 after suffering a stroke.
