Luis Manzano: "Kahit tapos na ang eleksyon, ito ay umpisa pa lamang ng matagal pa nating pagsasamahan."
It was a bittersweet moment for the family of Vilma Santos-Recto when the results of Eleksyon 2025 in Batangas came out.
The Star for All Seasons won as Batangas governor, a position she last held from 2007 to 2016. Her son, Ryan Christian Recto, has also been proclaimed as the new representative of the sixth district of Batangas.
However, Vilma's eldest son, Luis Manzano, failed to join the winning circle after losing to Dodo Mandanas in the vice gubernatorial race.
Despite this, the TV host-actor was gracious in his defeat and thanked his family and supporters for their unwavering support.
He shared on Instagram, “Hindi man tayo pinalad sa resulta ng halalan, panalo pa rin ako, dahil sa inyo.
“Sa bawat ngiti, kwento, at yakap na ibinahagi n'yo sa kampanya, mas naramdaman ko ang tibok ng puso ng Batangas. Mas napalapit ako sa inyo. Mas nakilala ko kayo, at iyon ay habang buhay kong babaunin.
“Salamat sa mga supporters, sa pamilya ko, at higit sa lahat, sa Diyos na naging gabay sa buong laban.”
“Masigla at napakasaya ng kampanya dahil nakasama ko kayo. At kahit tapos na ang eleksyon, ito ay umpisa pa lamang ng matagal pa nating pagsasamahan.
“Hanggang sa muli. Maraming salamat po.”
Luis's wife, Jessy Mendiola, also supported her husband through an Instagram post yesterday, May 13.
In a faith-inspired quote card, Jessy told Luis: "Still proud of you, @luckymanzano, I love you."
