Former model and actor Luke Jickain is officially a lawyer after passing the 2025 Bar Examinations.

On Wednesday, January 7, the Supreme Court released the results of the 2025 Bar Examinations, where 5,594 out of 11,420 examinees successfully passed to become full-fledged lawyers.

Among those who passed is former model and actor Luke Jickain. Luke announced this achievement on Facebook, sharing his graduation photo alongside a screenshot of his name from the official list of passers.

Many people extended their congratulations to him, including the team behind the 2017 law-themed film Bar Boys.

Through a social media post, the film's team warmly congratulated Luke on officially becoming a lawyer.

“Congratulations to former model and actor, now lawyer Luke Jickain,” the team wrote in the caption.

According to the Bar Boys team, Luke served as their inspiration for the character of Josh Zuñiga in the film.

In the original film, the character Josh, portrayed by Kean Cipriano, struggles after failing the law school entrance exam while his three best friends proceed to become lawyers.

In a parallel to the film's recently released sequel, Bar Boys: After School, Luke eventually returned to his studies, graduating from the Arellano University School of Law in June 2025.

“In 2017, he was the basis for Joshua Zuñiga in Bar Boys. He went back to law school and became the basis of the character in Bar Boys: After School and passed the bar on his first take,” the team explained.

Before achieving his dream of becoming a lawyer in 2026, Luke was prominent in the fashion industry as a model. He is also known for his roles in series like Marina and Imortal.

Luke was not the only entertainment figure to pass this year's licensure exam for lawyers. Actor Nico Antonio, who appeared in the original Bar Boys and recently played a lawyer in the MMFF 2025 film Unmarry, also successfully passed the exams.

The original 2017 film Bar Boys, which starred Carlo Aquino, Rocco Nacino, Enzo Pineda, and Kean Cipriano, follows the 'barkadahan' of Erik, Torran, Chris, and Josh while they navigate the academic and personal challenges of law school.

Its 2025 sequel, Bar Boys: After School, which was an entry to the 51st Metro Manila Film Festival, revisits the characters 10 years later as they face the real challenges of their profession.
