Last Saturday (August 29), the fans' favorite swordsman held his P1ECE OF YU Fan Meet at The Theatre at Solaire.

"I love the energy," the actor said, praising the crowd for their heartwarming greetings.

But what made the audience even more thrilled was when Mackenyu shared details about his preparations for playing Roronoa Zoro in Netflix's live-action series One Piece.

"That's not now. I'm supposed to be that. I wanna be that. Like very, very fit and ripped. So it's more that way but..." Mackenyu said, comparing his physique in the live-action series to the anime version.

"We need proof," the host joked.

To the fans' surprise, Mackenyu suddenly stood up.

"Well, if you say so," he said.

But as expected, it turned out to be a playful prank from the actor, leaving the audience amused.

Mackenyu's visit followed his 2023 fan meeting held at the Mall of Asia Arena.

The Japanese actor is best known for portraying Roronoa Zoro in Netflix's live-action series, One Piece. Based on the manga by Eiichiro Oda, Zoro travels with the Straw Hat Pirates while pursuing his dream of becoming the world's greatest swordsman. He is also known for his unique Three Sword Style.

Other than the live-action series, Mackenyu has also starred in several action titles, including Rurouni Kenshin: The Final (2021), Fullmetal Alchemist: The Revenge of Scar (2022), and Knights of the Zodiac (2023).
